Rozanne (on your 85th birthday)

The triumph of your name

Expelled from a Litany of names

The inimitable flower the rose

That blossoms from such names

As Rosencrantz or Roseola or Roscoannie

But then the rose becomes the flower

Becomes Rozanne

Becomes the precious

The once the one Rozanne

Of all the flowers

  1. I was so moved by this poem. Edwina eloquently read it for the whole family in the infamous party room. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for writing about Grandma Rose…it’s how I feel but I could never find words such words.

  2. Ted, your birthday poem for Rozanne was a HUGE hit, and Edwina was masterful in her delivery. It added a warm, wonderful element to a memorable evening celebrating Rosie’s 85th birthday. We miss you and love you and hope to see you and Marie in the near future. Love, Paul & Annie xo
